So, Iran decided to throw a tantrum. Again.
On Monday, reports started rolling in from the region saying Iran had fired ballistic missiles at U.S. bases in Qatar and Iraq. None of them did any damage. Why? Because apparently, we intercepted them. You’d think they’d stop trying at this point.
Even Iranian state television jumped in to confirm that they had launched “at least ten ballistic missiles.” It was a retaliation that Trump warned the Cryatollah that if they retaliated, there would be hell to pay.
So what triggered this? Over the weekend, the U.S. hit Iran right where it hurts—its nuclear sites at Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz. And Iran wasn’t happy about it. So, they decided to respond like they always do: by trying to hit American military installations.
Iran was warned not to retaliate!

Thankfully, the U.S. was ready for it. We had already moved air and naval assets out of harm’s way. It’s almost like we knew they’d go toys-in-the-attic bat-guano crazy. Maybe because they always do.
Iran tried to claim a win, of course. They bragged that they had hit Al-Udeid, a key U.S. base in Qatar. But hitting it and hitting it effectively? Two different things.
That base isn’t just some outpost, by the way. President Donald Trump visited the troops there earlier this year. Last week, we moved air assets away from the base. So, when Iran finally took its swing, the punch landed nowhere. Again.
The same thing happened with our ships. The Navy pulled vessels out of Bahrain ahead of time. It’s almost like the Pentagon was watching this slow-motion tantrum unfold in real time.
Trump had made it clear what would happen if Iran took a shot at Americans or U.S. bases. He didn’t mince words. He promised massive retaliation. And that was prior to laying a finger on their nuclear sites.
But here’s the thing. If Iran’s missile stunt is just for show—just to save face without doing any real damage—Trump might just brush it off. He’s done it before.
Back in 2020, we took out Qasem Soleimani, a top Iranian terror general. Iran fired some missiles at our base in Iraq afterward, but they didn’t kill anyone. Trump didn’t strike back. And that drove Democrats nuts.
Joe Biden, who was still a candidate at the time, claimed Trump ignored American troops’ head injuries. The missiles didn’t kill soldiers, but Biden still used it as a political cudgel.
And here’s where it gets interesting. According to The New York Times, “Three Iranian officials familiar with the plans said that Iran gave advanced notice to Qatari officials that attacks were coming, as a way to minimize casualties.” So they literally warned people in advance. How very sporting of them.
Qatar came out and confirmed the attack. Then they took it a step further and called it a violation of their sovereignty. And, in classic Middle Eastern political fashion, they still managed to blame “Israeli escalation in the region” for the whole mess. Iran launches missiles, and somehow it’s Israel’s fault. That’s the logic we’re dealing with.
